Ida Morra-Caruso
Lawyer (Owner)
As the founder and principal of Morra Caruso Law, Ida has more than 23 years of experience providing strategic advice and legal representation to businesses and individuals on a range legal matters. Her core practice areas include business law, wills and estates, and employment law.
Ida brings a wealth of broad legal knowledge and experience to her practice. Ida offers the residents of Stouffville and surrounding areas an energetic approach to the practice of law centered on prompt, quality and experienced legal service to all clients, no matter how big or small. Ida is passionate about knowing who her clients are and providing them with the practical advice that fits their situation.
Ida was nominated for the Stouffville Chamber of Commerce’s Young Entrepreneur award in 2011 and for a Special Recognition Award in 2023, while Morra Caruso Law was nominated for Best Small Business in 2016 and 2023 and was the Reader’s Choice Platinum winner in 2021.
Martin Bufton
Lawyer
Martin obtained his law degree from the University of New Brunswick and was called to the Bar in 2000. He practiced in the west end of Toronto before joining Morra Caruso Law. Martin's practice revolves largely around Family Law and he has regularly appeared in the Ontario court of Justice in child custody, access and support matters, and in the Superior Court/ Superior Unified Court on property division. Martin prepares and provides advice on Domestic contracts (Separation Agreements, Marriage Contracts and Cohabitation Agreements). In addition Martin practices general civil litigation in the Superior court of Justice and Small Claims court and Estate law including the preparation of Applications for certificates of appointment as estate trustee with and without a will. Martin has prepared Application and management plans for Application to replace the Public Guardian Trustee as Guardians for property. Sanja Curic
Lawyer
Sanja is a graduate of Queen’s University and was called to the bar in 2003. She has exclusively practiced Family Law since her call and is a strong advocate for collaborative Law which she began practicing in 2010. Sanja is Chair of York Collaborative Practice, a member of the Board of Collaborative Practice Durham Region and a member of Collaborative Practice Toronto.
Sanja uses her experience to help clients determine for themselves what process options suit their needs and situation, options including Collaborative, mediation or litigation. Sanja supports her clients in balancing the need to manage the emotional struggles of a separation and divorce, while also using logical and practical approaches to guide them towards achieving timely, cost-effective and successful results.
Vira Morra
Office Manager
Since the first day of Morra Caruso Law inception, Vira has been a dedicated team contributor as Office Manager. She is a graduate of the University of Toronto achieving a Bachelor of Arts, and a graduate at Herzing College's Paralegal Program. Vira is an enduring asset to the firm as she appreciates the importance of maintaining a smooth intake process, billing, management and organization of the office. She oversees the firms marketing, human resources, financial, and facilities management. Vira is dedicated to customer satisfaction and offers high caliber service to our clients.
Julie Patterson
Law Clerk
Julie joined the Morra Caruso Law Team in February of 2014. She graduated from Seneca's Law Enforcement program in 1999 and Law Clerk program in 2003. Julie is currently the firm's Senior Law Clerk and assistant to principal Lawyer Ida Morra-Caruso. Julie assists on Real Estate, Corporate and Commercial, Wills and Estates and has a background in Family Law. Julie is detail oriented with a strong work ethic and a client focused approach to the files she is assists on, understanding that the situations and stress that having a legal matter can cause a client and makes herself available to direct and assist clients with any matter as needed.
Ryan Dancey
Lawyer
Ryan obtained an Honours degree in Philosophy from York University and a law degree from the University of Windsor. Ryan worked at a criminal law firm before being called to the Bar in 2016. Prior to joining Morra Caruso Law, Ryan worked with clients in Business, Contract, Estate, and Commercial and Residential Real Estate Law, and he continues to advise and represent clients in these areas. Ryan reviews and drafts commercial contracts, and he also practices general civil litigation in the Small Claims Court
Wendy Lawton
Law Clerk
Wendy joined the Morra Caruso Law Team in October of 2022. She is a graduate of Centennial College’s Law Clerk program and has completed associate courses with the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario. Wendy is currently the firm’s Law Clerk for Sanja Curic. With Wendy’s lengthy history of customer service, and her experience in multiple areas of law, she is able to manage client files with compassion, knowledge and respect.
Matthew Berman
Law Clerk
Matthew joined the Morra Caruso Law Team in July 2023. He graduated with honors from Sheridan College’s Paralegal program in 2020 and received his Paralegal License from the Law Society of Ontario in 2021. He worked as a Law Clerk at a Family Law firm in Toronto from 2020 to 2023 assisting clients through all the stages of Family Law matters. Matthew is currently the firm’s Law Clerk for Martin Bufton. He is committed to providing our clients with excellent service.
